This 3 hour session aims to help you get the very best from your wood planes. You will receive an introduction to the different kinds of planes and their uses. The main learning points are as follows;

• A look at different planes and their functions and select the right tool for the right job.

• How to sharpen your plane blade to the correct angle.

• How to set your plane to achieve the best wood shaving. We like ‘Woolly - not - Woody!’

• The value of making a good Shooting Board for your workshop

  Our Technique Workshops are designed to help you develop your understanding of your tools and enhance your pleasure and success working with wood. If you have your own planes, please arrange to bring them along so that we can work with them. We aim to provide a Skill Sharing Session with like minded and interested participants.
